Aesthetic Training FAQs

Answers to the questions we're asked most by prospective students across Bristol, Bath and the wider South West.

Entry Requirements

Do I need a healthcare background to start aesthetics training?

+
No. Our Level 3 Pathway to Aesthetic Practice is designed as a regulated entry route for complete beginners as well as beauty therapists and healthcare professionals, so a clinical background isn't required to begin your journey.

Can nurses, paramedics or doctors skip straight to a higher level?

+
In some cases, yes. Registered Nurses, Paramedics, Midwives, Doctors and Dentists may be accepted directly onto Level 4, and in some circumstances Level 5, subject to assessment and recognition of prior learning. Get in touch and we'll assess your background against the right course.

What qualifications do I need to inject Botox or dermal fillers in the UK?

+
There's currently no single legally mandated qualification for injectable treatments in the UK. However, reputable, CPD registered academies such as ours require practitioners to complete accredited foundation training covering anatomy, consultation, injection technique and complication management before progressing to advanced treatments, in line with JCCP guidance.

Do I need professional insurance to practise after training?

+
Yes, professional indemnity insurance is required to practise aesthetic treatments, and it's a typical entry requirement for Level 5 training. We provide guidance on insurance, pharmacy registration and product sourcing as part of every course.

Practical Training Evenings

What are the new practical training evenings?

+
Alongside our CPD accredited course modules, we've introduced practical training evenings dedicated purely to hands-on practice — giving practitioners supervised, repeated practical experience outside of a full course structure. As far as we're aware, this isn't currently offered by other local academies in Bristol or Bath.

Who are the practical training evenings suitable for?

+
They're aimed at practitioners who've already completed foundation training and want extra supervised, hands-on repetition to build speed, precision and confidence in a small, clinically led group setting.

How do I book a practical training evening?

+
Contact our team via the enquiry form or Book Now button and let us know which treatment area you'd like to practise — we'll confirm the next available evening session for you.

Courses, Pricing & Location

Are NK Aesthetic & Training Academy courses CPD accredited?

+
Our training is delivered across Bristol and Bath, with small class sizes and hands-on learning using live models, led by clinicians with real-world medical and aesthetic expertise.

How much do your aesthetic courses cost?

+
Pricing varies by treatment area and training level. Visit our Prices page for full course-by-course pricing, or contact us for a tailored quote.

How long does aesthetic training take to complete?

+
Course length depends on the treatment and level — from single-day foundation courses in a specific treatment area to multi-day Level 3 to 5 programmes combining theory, supervised practice and assessment.

What treatments can I learn at NK Aesthetic & Training Academy?

+
We offer training in botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, skin boosters, microneedling, chemical peels, non-surgical rhinoplasty, tear trough, polynucleotides and fat dissolving (Aqualyx), plus our practical training evenings. See our full course list.
